This Privacy Policy explains how Sound Page LLC ("SoundPage," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information when you use:
- soundpage.com, studio.soundpage.com, storefronts hosted on wav.id, and seller storefronts using a custom domain;
- SoundPage profiles, audio players, links, products, licenses, checkout, bookings, memberships, promotions, audience, email, analytics, import, and related features;
- emails sent through SoundPage, including from sending domains such as sndpg.co; or
- support, marketing, events, and other interactions with us
Together, these are the "Services." If you have questions, contact help@soundpage.com.
OUR ROLES AT A GLANCE
SoundPage has different privacy roles depending on the activity:
- SoundPage as controller or business. We decide why and how information is used for SoundPage accounts, authentication, guest purchaser records, checkout and order administration, Platform security, fraud and abuse prevention, SoundPage analytics, reviews, support, legal compliance, and our own communications.
- Sellers as independent controllers or businesses. A Seller decides why and how to use information for fulfillment, customer support, service bookings, membership management, its own marketing, its advertising account, and any use outside SoundPage.
- SoundPage as processor or service provider for a Seller. When we store a Seller's selected audience and send campaigns at the Seller's direction, we process that audience information for the Seller. Our Terms include the data processing terms that govern this role.
- SoundPage and a Seller as joint controllers in a limited case. Where EU or UK data-protection law applies, we and a Seller may jointly control the collection and transmission that occurs when the Seller activates a supported advertising tag on its storefront. The Seller separately controls the information in its advertising-platform account.
The sections below explain these roles in more detail.
01WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?
The information we collect depends on how you use the Services.
Information you provide
Account and profile information. This may include your name, email address, username, password or authentication credential, phone number, contact preferences, account identifiers, and information from a linked login provider. Sellers may publish a display name or handle, profile image, biography, social links, production credits, chart positions, certifications, catalog information, and other professional or profile details.
Seller Content and settings. This may include audio files, artwork, video or embed links, product descriptions, license terms, files for delivery, posts, membership content and benefits, service details, pricing, availability, custom-domain settings, and advertising-tag identifiers.
Orders and commercial interactions. This may include the product or service, selected license, price, discount, offer and negotiation messages, order status, purchaser and recipient details, configured revenue splits, payment-provider and transaction identifiers, refunds, disputes, downloads, free claims, and membership status. If you purchase or claim something without a full account, we may create a limited purchaser record associated with your email address and issue an order-access link or token.
Bookings and project information. This may include the requested date and time, Seller and Customer timezones, duration, turnaround estimate, availability, status, private brief, project files, instructions, and communications needed to perform a service.
Audience and campaign information. This may include a name, email address, source and date added, Seller association, subscriber, pre-save, customer, free-claim, or membership status, imported-list metadata, suppression and unsubscribe status, and campaign delivery, open, click, bounce, and complaint information.
Reviews and community interactions. This may include a rating, comment, like or other reaction, date, reviewer-selected public name, purchase-verification status, and security or fraud-prevention information such as a one-way identifier derived from an IP address.
Imports and automated suggestions. If a Seller submits a page, catalog, or social URL for import, we collect the URL and public information retrieved from that source or related sources. Automated services may analyze it to suggest profile content, links, design choices, catalog items, or credits. Sellers are responsible for reviewing the result before publishing.
Communications. We collect information in support requests, surveys, applications, reports, copyright notices, and other messages you send us. If you open our support chat while signed in, account details may be provided to the chat service so we can assist you.
Seller identity, payout, and tax information. We or our providers may process government identifiers, identity documents, tax forms, payout details, and related verification results where needed for identity verification, fraud prevention, payouts, or legal compliance. Some of this may be sensitive personal information under applicable law.
Payment information
Stripe and PayPal handle full card, bank, wallet, and other payment credentials under their own privacy policies. SoundPage generally does not store a full card or bank-account number. We receive limited information needed to administer a transaction, such as payer and payee details, payment-provider account and transaction identifiers, amount, currency, status, fees, and refund, dispute, or chargeback information. Review the Stripe Privacy Policy and PayPal Privacy Statement.
Information collected automatically
When you use the Services, we and our providers may collect:
- IP address, browser, device, operating system, language, approximate city or region derived from IP, and network information;
- referring and destination URLs, pages and files viewed, search and navigation activity, dates and times, audio plays and previews, link clicks, cart and checkout events, purchases, conversions, and feature interactions;
- authentication, cookie, session, consent, order-access, device, and similar identifiers;
- diagnostic, security, performance, error, and fraud signals; and
- campaign delivery and engagement information described above
We use this information to operate and secure the Services, understand performance, provide Sellers with storefront and campaign analytics, prevent fraud, and improve SoundPage. We do not collect precise GPS location through the Services.
Information from other sources
We may receive information from:
- Sellers, such as an imported contact, Customer information needed for fulfillment, or a report about a transaction;
- payment providers, such as account, payment, payout, refund, dispute, and risk information;
- login and linked services, such as WAVS or Google profile and account identifiers;
- public sources and import providers, when a Seller requests a page, catalog, credit, or social import;
- analytics, security, support, email, and infrastructure providers; and
- other users, rights holders, regulators, or law-enforcement bodies who communicate with us
02SELLER AUDIENCES, CUSTOMERS, AND CAMPAIGNS
How a Seller's audience is built
A Seller's SoundPage audience may include:
- people who submit a subscriber, pre-save, smart-link, promotion, download, or free-claim form;
- Customers who purchase, book, or join a membership;
- contacts the Seller imports from another service; and
- people whose information the Seller otherwise lawfully directs us to process
Submitting a pre-save or similar form may add the email address to the Seller's audience and may trigger release, launch, access, or other messages described when the information is collected.
Our role for campaigns
When a Seller selects an audience and directs us to store contacts, send campaigns, maintain suppression, or report campaign performance, the Seller is the controller or business and SoundPage is its processor or service provider. We use the information to:
- store and organize contacts for that Seller;
- send campaigns and Seller-directed transactional messages;
- maintain unsubscribe and suppression records;
- measure delivery, opens, clicks, bounces, complaints, and other campaign performance;
- provide audience and campaign reporting; and
- prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and harm to deliverability
For our own security, abuse prevention, suppression, legal compliance, and enforcement purposes, SoundPage acts as a separate controller or business.
What Sellers receive and control
If you purchase, book, subscribe, pre-save, claim, or join through a Seller's storefront, the Seller receives relevant details such as your name, email address, order or interaction, selected license or service, membership or subscriber status, brief, and campaign engagement. The Seller uses this information to fulfill the interaction, provide support, manage the relationship, and, where lawful, market to you.
A contact appearing in a Seller's SoundPage audience does not mean SoundPage has determined that the Seller may lawfully send that person marketing. Sellers are responsible for their collection notices, consent or other legal basis, marketing rules, and use outside the Services.
We do not sell a Seller's audience list or use processor-held audience information to send SoundPage's own marketing. We disclose it only as directed by the Seller, to provide and secure the Services, or as required by law.
Your choices for Seller messages
Seller campaigns sent through SoundPage include an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future campaigns from that Seller through SoundPage but does not stop receipts, access links, security notices, or other messages needed for a transaction or account. To correct or delete information controlled by a Seller, contact the Seller. You may also contact help@soundpage.com; we will route or assist with the request where appropriate and act directly where law requires.
The data processing terms between SoundPage and Sellers are in Section 7 of our Terms.
03HOW DO WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION?
We may use personal information to:
- create, authenticate, secure, and manage accounts and guest purchaser records;
- publish and operate Seller profiles, storefronts, custom domains, content, links, and embeds;
- provide previews, checkout, payments, payouts, order access, downloads, licenses, free claims, offers, discounts, bundles, and promotions;
- administer bookings, private briefs, services, memberships, posts, benefits, reviews, and Seller-Customer communications;
- operate Seller audience and email tools as described in Section 2;
- provide storefront, sales, audience, and campaign analytics;
- perform Seller-requested page, catalog, social, and credit imports and generate automated suggestions;
- respond to support requests and communicate about transactions, accounts, security, policy changes, and service updates;
- send SoundPage onboarding, lifecycle, research, and promotional communications as permitted by law and your preferences;
- process subscriptions to SoundPage paid plans and manage billing, refunds, disputes, and chargebacks;
- identify, investigate, and prevent fraud, spam, abuse, security incidents, intellectual-property violations, and other harmful or unlawful activity;
- debug, test, analyze, personalize, develop, and improve the Services;
- enforce our Terms and protect SoundPage, users, and others; and
- comply with tax, accounting, legal, regulatory, and reporting obligations and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims
When a person creates or operates a Seller account, we may send their contact information, plan status, and product-usage milestones to our lifecycle and marketing systems so we can provide onboarding and relevant SoundPage communications. Marketing emails include an opt-out. Service and transaction messages may continue after a marketing opt-out.
We do not currently use solely automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects for users. We may use automated rules and signals for fraud prevention, content or account review, feature recommendations, segmentation, and analytics, with human review where appropriate.
04WHAT LEGAL BASES DO WE RELY ON?
If EU, UK, or similar data-protection law applies, our legal bases may include:
- Contract. Processing needed to provide the Services you request under our Terms, administer an account or transaction, or take requested steps before a contract.
- Legitimate interests. Processing reasonably necessary to operate and improve SoundPage, secure the Platform, prevent fraud and spam, understand use, support users, communicate with existing business users where permitted, and protect legal rights, balanced against the person's rights and expectations.
- Consent. Processing for which we ask permission, such as certain cookies, advertising tags, marketing communications, or optional connections. Consent can be withdrawn at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
- Legal obligation. Processing needed for tax, accounting, sanctions, consumer, privacy, law-enforcement, court, and regulatory requirements.
- Vital interests. Processing needed to protect someone's life or physical safety.
Where we process a Seller's audience as processor, the Seller—not SoundPage—is responsible for identifying and documenting the legal basis for its purposes.
If Canadian law applies, we rely on express or implied consent as appropriate and on exceptions permitted by law, including for fraud, investigations, business transactions, legal process, and specified publicly available information.
05WHEN AND WITH WHOM DO WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION?
We may disclose personal information to:
- Sellers. We provide the relevant Seller with information about its Customers, subscribers, pre-savers, members, booked services, claims, reviews, and campaigns as described in Section 2.
- Payment and payout providers. Stripe, PayPal, financial institutions, and related fraud, tax, and verification providers process information needed for payments, connected accounts, payouts, refunds, disputes, and compliance.
- Infrastructure and data providers. Providers such as Vercel, Amazon Web Services, Neon, and Upstash help host applications, databases, files, caching, queues, and security controls.
- Email and communications providers. Providers such as Amazon Simple Email Service, Resend, Loops, ActiveCampaign, and Crisp help deliver transactional email, Seller campaigns, SoundPage lifecycle communications, and support.
- Analytics, diagnostics, and security providers. Providers such as PostHog, Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Sentry help measure use, diagnose errors, record consented diagnostic sessions, and protect the Services.
- Import, automation, and artificial-intelligence providers. Providers such as Firecrawl, Apify, Trigger.dev, and OpenAI help perform Seller-requested imports, retrieve public source information, automate processing, and create suggestions.
- Login and linked-service providers. WAVS, Google, and another service you choose to link receive or provide information needed to authenticate or operate the connection.
- Advertising platforms selected by a Seller. Meta or Google may receive storefront-visit information through a Seller's tag as described in Section 6.
- Professional advisers and authorities. Lawyers, accountants, auditors, insurers, regulators, courts, law enforcement, and other parties may receive information where reasonably necessary to obtain advice, comply with law, protect rights or safety, or investigate misconduct.
- Transaction parties. A buyer, successor, lender, or adviser may receive information in connection with a proposed or completed merger, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or similar corporate transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
- The public and other users. Seller profiles, storefronts, public posts and products, credits, and reviews are public. Search engines and others may index, copy, or share them outside SoundPage.
- Other parties at your direction or with your consent.
These examples reflect current provider categories and may change as our Services evolve. Providers receive information relevant to their function and are subject to contractual or legal restrictions where required.
We do not sell personal information for money. Certain disclosures through Seller advertising tags may be considered "sharing," targeted advertising, or a sale under some US state privacy laws even though no money is exchanged. See Sections 6 and 14.
06COOKIES, ANALYTICS, ADVERTISING TAGS, EMBEDS, AND EMAIL MEASUREMENT
We and others use cookies, pixels, local storage, software development kits, and similar technologies.
Essential technologies
Essential technologies support login, account and transaction security, cart and checkout, load balancing, fraud prevention, consent records, order access, and core preferences. They may operate without an opt-in where law permits because the requested Services depend on them. Error reporting may collect technical and limited account context needed to diagnose a failure; we configure session replay separately as described below.
SoundPage analytics and diagnostics
We use PostHog, Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Sentry, depending on the page and feature, to measure visits and interactions, understand conversions, evaluate features, diagnose errors, and improve the Services. Where enabled, diagnostic session replay is configured to mask text and inputs and block media.
On SoundPage storefront and studio pages, available privacy controls let you manage the Analytics category. In opt-in regions, those page-level analytics are configured to remain off until permission is given; in the United States, the Services may use an opt-out model. You can reopen available privacy controls from the page footer.
The marketing website at soundpage.com currently uses PostHog analytics that may initialize when the page loads and may use cookies or similar identifiers. The marketing website does not currently provide the same in-page controls as the storefront and studio. Browser privacy settings, blocking tools, and applicable legal rights may limit this processing.
Seller advertising tags
An eligible Seller may add a Meta Pixel or Google tag to its storefront. When permitted by the applicable privacy setting, the tag may send information such as IP address, browser identifiers, page viewed, and interactions directly to Meta or Google for the Seller's measurement or advertising. SoundPage does not have access to the Seller's advertising account.
On storefronts and studio pages, these tags follow the Marketing choice presented by the Platform: an opt-in model may apply outside the United States and an opt-out model may apply in the United States. We also use supported Global Privacy Control signals as an opt-out from this Marketing category. A choice on the shared wav.id domain may apply across storefronts on that domain; a custom domain has a separate choice.
For collection and transmission through a Seller tag, SoundPage determines the technical conditions and privacy controls, while the Seller selects the tag and controls its advertising account. Where EU or UK law applies, this is the essence of our joint-controller arrangement. Contact either party about this stage. Only the Seller can directly act on information in its own advertising account, but we will reasonably route requests.
Third-party embeds and links
Storefronts may include embedded players, posts, and media from services such as YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Instagram, X, Vimeo, Twitch, Bandcamp, and others. Loading or interacting with an embed may disclose your IP address, browser information, referring page, and interaction to that provider, which may use its own cookies or identifiers under its privacy policy. The Seller chooses the embed; SoundPage does not control the provider's independent processing.
Email measurement
Emails sent through SoundPage may contain a small pixel and redirected links that measure delivery, opens, and clicks. We provide relevant results to the sending Seller and use them for reporting, deliverability, security, and abuse prevention. Blocking remote images may prevent open measurement; link measurement may still occur when a link is clicked.
Except for Seller-selected tags and third-party content or integrations described above, SoundPage does not provide third parties with access to the Services so they can place their own advertising technologies.
07THIRD-PARTY LOGINS AND LINKED ACCOUNTS
If you sign in with WAVS or Google, we receive information such as your name, email address, profile image, and provider account identifier, and the provider receives information needed to complete the sign-in or connection. We use it to authenticate you, create or link your SoundPage account, and operate connected features.
The provider's own processing is governed by its privacy policy. Our use of information received from Google APIs is intended to follow the Google API Services User Data Policy, including Limited Use requirements.
08INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
SoundPage is based in the United States, and we and our providers may store or process information in the United States and other countries. Those countries may not provide the same level of protection as your home country.
Where applicable law restricts a transfer, we use or require an appropriate transfer mechanism, such as an adequacy decision, the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK Addendum or International Data Transfer Agreement, or another approved mechanism, together with supplementary measures where required. Contact us for more information about the mechanism relevant to your information.
09HOW LONG DO WE KEEP INFORMATION?
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, considering the type and sensitivity of the information, the account or transaction lifecycle, legal and contractual obligations, limitation periods, security needs, and the risk of harm. In general:
- Accounts, profiles, and Seller Content are retained while the account or content is active and for a reasonable period after closure to complete deletion, restore service, resolve disputes, or comply with law.
- Orders, payments, licenses, memberships, bookings, tax, payout, refund, and dispute records may be retained for applicable accounting, tax, consumer-protection, anti-fraud, chargeback, and legal limitation periods.
- Seller audience and campaign information is retained while the Seller uses the relevant Services and afterwards as instructed or reasonably needed for transition, legal compliance, and Platform integrity.
- Unsubscribe and suppression records may be retained longer so an opt-out continues to be honored and a later import does not re-add the address.
- Consent, security, fraud, diagnostic, and technical logs are retained for periods appropriate to evidence choices, protect the Services, investigate incidents, and meet legal obligations.
- Support, legal, copyright, and rights-request records are retained as needed to respond, document compliance, resolve disputes, and establish or defend claims.
- Public reviews and transaction-verification records may remain while the review or associated listing is displayed and as needed for integrity and disputes.
- Import inputs and automated outputs are retained while needed to complete the requested import, support the resulting content, and troubleshoot the feature.
When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymize it. Information in backups may remain until the backup is overwritten or expires and is isolated from ordinary use in the meantime. We may retain information longer if subject to a legal hold, required by law, or necessary to protect rights, safety, or the Services.
10HOW DO WE PROTECT INFORMATION?
We use technical and organizational safeguards designed for the nature and risk of the information we process. These include access controls, authentication, encryption in transit, monitoring, provider controls, and procedures for handling incidents. No Internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access, loss, or misuse will never occur. Protect your credentials and order-access links and contact us if you suspect misuse.
11CHILDREN
Accounts, purchases, licenses, paid memberships, and service bookings are intended for people who are at least 18 or the age of legal majority where they live. Public storefronts are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through interactive or transactional features or knowingly sell or share children's personal information. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact help@soundpage.com so we can investigate and take appropriate action.
12YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to:
- know whether and how we process your personal information;
- access or obtain a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete information;
- restrict or object to processing;
- obtain portable information you provided;
- withdraw consent;
- opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling;
- limit certain uses of sensitive personal information;
- appeal a refusal to act on a request; and
- receive equal service and pricing without unlawful discrimination for exercising a right
To exercise a right, email help@soundpage.com from the address associated with your account or provide enough information for us to locate the relevant record. We may verify your identity and authority, ask for clarification, and deny or limit a request where law permits. If information is controlled by a Seller, we may route the request to that Seller and assist.
SoundPage marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in a SoundPage marketing email or contact us. Opting out does not stop necessary account, security, transaction, policy, or service messages.
Seller marketing. Use the unsubscribe link in the Seller's campaign. This applies to campaigns from that Seller through SoundPage.
Account information. You can update available account and profile fields in the Services. To request account closure or another change not available in settings, contact us. We may retain information as described in Section 9.
Consent. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal or processing based on another lawful ground.
People in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland may complain to their local data-protection authority. Canadian residents may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or the applicable provincial authority.
13DO-NOT-TRACK AND GLOBAL PRIVACY CONTROL
Some browsers offer a Do-Not-Track signal, but no uniform standard requires a single response to that signal, and the Services do not currently respond to it.
On SoundPage storefront and studio pages, we recognize supported Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signals as an opt-out from the Marketing category used for Seller advertising tags. GPC is applied to the browser that sends it. The signal does not itself submit an access or deletion request and may not control independent processing by an embed provider, linked site, or advertising platform after information has reached that party.
14US STATE PRIVACY DISCLOSURES
If a comprehensive US state privacy law applies to you, this Section supplements the rest of the Policy.
Categories collected in the preceding 12 months
Depending on how a person used SoundPage, we collected:
- Identifiers, such as name, alias, postal address, email address, phone number, account name, online identifiers, IP address, and provider identifiers;
- California Customer Records information, such as name, contact, billing, limited financial, and transaction information;
- Commercial information, such as products, licenses, bookings, memberships, purchase and claim history, offers, payments, refunds, and disputes;
- Internet or network activity, such as pages, audio plays, traffic sources, interactions, campaign engagement, and diagnostic logs;
- Approximate geolocation, derived from IP address;
- Audio, visual, and electronic information, such as audio, artwork, images, uploaded files, support messages, and public content;
- Professional information, such as Seller roles, production credits, professional biography, chart positions, certifications, and catalog information;
- Inferences, such as likely preferences, product interests, account milestones, audience or lifecycle segments, and fraud or abuse signals; and
- Sensitive personal information, such as account credentials and, for relevant Sellers, government identifiers, identity documents, tax information, and payout-account information
We do not intentionally collect biometric identifiers such as fingerprints or voiceprints, precise geolocation, or education records as product fields. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics.
We collect these categories from the sources in Section 1, use them for the purposes in Sections 2 through 4, disclose them to the recipients in Section 5, and retain them as described in Section 9.
Sale, sharing, and targeted advertising
We have not sold personal information for money. In the preceding 12 months, when a Seller activated a supported Meta or Google advertising tag, identifiers, Internet or network activity, device information, and approximate location may have been disclosed to that platform for the Seller's measurement or cross-context behavioral advertising. Under California and some other state laws, this may be "sharing," targeted advertising, or a sale even though no money is exchanged.
The categories of recipients are advertising and analytics platforms selected by Sellers. The business purpose is to provide the Seller-selected tag and related measurement or advertising. You may opt out on supported storefront and studio pages through the Marketing privacy control or a supported GPC signal. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of people under 18.
Disclosures to service providers, payment providers, Sellers for fulfillment, authorities, or transaction parties are not treated as a sale or sharing where an applicable legal exception applies.
Requests, verification, agents, and appeals
Submit a request or appeal by emailing help@soundpage.com. We will respond as required by the law that applies. We may use account, contact, transaction, or other information already held to verify identity and may request additional information where reasonably necessary. We use verification information only for verification, security, and fraud prevention.
An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted. We may require proof of authorization and may ask the consumer to verify identity or confirm permission directly. If we deny an appeal, you may have the right to contact your state attorney general or another regulator.
California residents may also request information under California's "Shine the Light" law about certain disclosures for third parties' own direct marketing. SoundPage does not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing as contemplated by that law.
15OTHER REGIONAL DISCLOSURES
Australia and New Zealand. If applicable, you may request access to or correction of personal information and complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner or the New Zealand Privacy Commissioner. If you do not provide information needed for a requested Service, we may be unable to provide it.
South Africa. If applicable, you may request access to or correction of personal information and complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa).
Rights and exceptions vary by jurisdiction. Contact us and we will assess the law that applies to your request.
16CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Services, law, or our practices. We will update the date above. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice as required, such as an email, an in-product notice, or a request to renew a choice. Earlier versions may remain relevant to processing that occurred while they were in effect.
